The famous Herbin brand was created in Paris, with its ink and sealing wax lines being known and widely sold internationally. The company Herbin, manufacturer of sealing wax was created in 1670, when Louis XIV was 32 years old. It is from his travels in India that the founder imported his formula of shellac which allowed him to advance the quality of his seals, in adherence and finesse, and to acquire a reputation in the kingdom.
Herbin has forged over the years three specialties:
• Writing inks and marking ink
• Sealing and decorating wax
• Plastiline, an ultra-precise industrial modeling clay that never hardens.
Most recently, a range of the finest Herbin inks has been launched, paying tribute to the creator Jacques Herbin. For more detail, view our catalogue.
